Closing the Circle
Pursah's Gospel of Thomas and A Course in Miracles
Rogier Fentener van Vlissingen is a native of the Netherlands, and a US resident since 1979. He studied Bible in the original Hebrew and Greek since his teens, and took an early interest in the apparent disconnect between Jesus and St. Paul. His focus always was the teachings of Jesus not Christian theology of any kind. Finding A Course in Miracles in 1991 was instrumental in developing his awareness of a relationship with Jesus further.
In this process, the work of Gary Renard was very helpful, demonstrating to him the inner consistency between the Jesus of the Thomas gospel and his presence in his teachings in the Course.
From a historical perspective, it is clear that the Thomas gospel, unlike the canonical gospels, was free from the editorial influence of St. Paul.
Closing the Circle introduces Course students to the Thomas gospel and some early Christian history, and Christians to both A Course in Miracles and the Thomas gospel.
